Honey Muffins for good health and abundance!

Honey is such a magical ingredient! During the late summer and early fall, honey is a staple crop in many parts of the world. This deliciously sweet and sticky gift from the bees is considered a health food. It will protect you against allergies if you eat just a teaspoon of locally sourced honey each day, and also has a number of magical properties. In some forms of Hoodoo and folk magic, honey is used to sweeten someone’s feelings towards you. Some ancient cultures used honey in embalming procedures. It’s always appropriate to leave offerings of honey at a graveside. Blend of honey and milk is an acceptable offering to a deity, like Aphrodite. In Hindu texts, honey is described as one of the five sacred elixirs of immortality.

I like to use honey instead of sugar whenever I can: these muffins are my favorite go-to whenever I feel like I need an extra kick for my health, love and abundance.

Ingredients for a dozen of muffins:

2 cups all-purpose flour

3 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 large egg

1 cup of milk 1/4 cup butter, melted

1/2 cup honey

DIRECTIONS:

Preheat oven to 400°.

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt- mix dry ingredients thoroughly. In a small bowl, combine egg and milk with a fork. Put butter in a small pan on low heat to melt. When butter is melted remove from heat and add honey to the melted butter. Add milk mixture to dry ingredients mix thoroughly. Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened. Add honey/butter mixture last and mix well all ingredients. If you want to be extra- mix it clockwise drawing a pentagram with your spoon, and willing your intentions into the batter.

Fill greased or paper-lined muffin cups three-fourths full- I used a round 1/4 cup measuring cup to fill the muffin cups. Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, 12-15 minutes. Cool 5 minutes before removing from pan to a wire rack. Serve warm. I like to top them with some extra honey, and sometimes I decorate them with thinly cut apple slices.

Let me know how did you like them!
